Chairloop is an iOS app for solo hairstylists. It helps you walk into each appointment prepared, capture notes between clients, and re-engage clients who are overdue. This policy explains what data Chairloop handles and how.
Your appointments, client profiles, voice-note transcripts, and drafted messages are stored on Chairloop's servers (a multi-tenant database hosted at api.chairloop.app), sent over an encrypted connection and isolated to your own account by database row-level security — your client list is never visible to other stylists (and to a salon owner only as described under "Salons" below). (Your Square access tokens are additionally encrypted at rest.) We use this data only to power the app's features, such as your daily briefs and re-engagement reminders, and we never sell or share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Chairloop relies on a few processors to run: Square (your bookings and clients), Anthropic / Claude (AI generation), and Resend (one-time login emails for salon owners).
What your salon owner can see depends on how you work, and we make that explicit in the app:
Either way, your clients are never visible to other stylists, and we never sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
A small number of authorized Chairloop staff can access account and client data when it's needed to operate the service — to provide support you've asked for, investigate a security or billing issue, or keep the service running. This access is limited to staff who need it, and staff actions on your data are logged. We use it only for those operational purposes — never to sell or share your data, and never for advertising.
When you connect Square, Chairloop reads your appointments, customers, and services through Square's API to build your daily briefs. Square remains the source of truth for that information. Your Square access is authorized via Square's OAuth, and the resulting access tokens are held on Chairloop's servers, encrypted and isolated to your account, so Chairloop can keep your briefs in sync on your behalf. You can disconnect Square at any time from Settings — Chairloop stops syncing and ends your session. You can also permanently delete your account and all stored data right from Settings ("Delete my data"), which revokes Chairloop's Square access and erases everything; or email us and we'll do it for you.
To generate appointment briefs, structure your voice notes, and draft re-engagement messages, Chairloop sends the minimum necessary context to the Anthropic (Claude) API through our proxy. This content is used only to produce the response and is not retained for training. Voice notes are transcribed on-device using Apple's Speech framework before any text is sent.
When you choose to text a client, Chairloop hands the drafted message to your iPhone's Messages app. You review and send it yourself; Chairloop does not send messages on your behalf.
